Torete

Torete is an 8-year-old Spanish Alano with a giant heart who has been waiting for his home for 5 years... Dogs like him sadly have fewer opportunities to leave the shelter because of their appearance, breed, and color. Torete is calm and friendly with the volunteers. With him, walks are perfect, as he doesn't pull on the leash and stays by your side. He loves to run and play with his life partner Luno. When he forms a bond with someone, he is loyal and gives all his affection to his guide. Anyone who knows him knows that his serious appearance does not define him... as he is cheerful, affectionate, and eager to be by your side. Torete came from a dark place, where they didn't bother to care for him, but did cut his ears to make him appear to be something he's not. During all this time at the shelter, he hasn't been able to be adopted due to legal issues, but now it is possible, and we hope that someone falls in love with him and gives him the life he deserved all this time but couldn't have. He needs a family that will give him security, tranquility, and a home with space to move freely. Ideally, a canine companion would accompany him in learning what it's like to live in a home. In his new home, it is not advisable to have cats or young children for a successful adaptation. Meet this big guy!
